Halloween Pictures (finally)

Here are some photos I took with my film camera during Halloween week in Wisconsin. I got my film developed at Ritz Camera, and the prints are full of dust and crap. I’ve gone to a different place that did a much better job, but that one cost twice as much. I’ll have to find something in between.

I’d like to thank everyone for a great time in Wisconsin, and a special thanks to Alex for agreeing to be photographed

Table Tennis

I’ve been getting exercise by playing table tennis in Medford. Table tennis is a nerdy sport, no doubt, but it is good exercise, and it is a tough game. I think I’m getting a little better, but I still lose to just about everyone in the club. Of course everyone in the club is very good, so it’s a high starting point.

Oh yeah!

Kucinich lays the smack down

Anyone who watched either the Democratic debate last week or The Daily Show’s coverage of it this week got to enjoy a Dennis Kucinich Moment. Specifically he was shooting down Dean’s promise to balance the budget with a well-delivered

I wish I was, Jackie O’Nassis…

I get the wrong sunglasses in the mail. Hilarity ensues!!!!

When I was in Japan, my Oakley sunglasses broke. I didn’t break them, I swear. They were on my face, and then suddenly something popped and they fell off.
A spring had broken, and one of the arms had fallen off. A few days ago, I (finally) called the company to ask about getting them fixed. They told me to send them over along
with a check, and they’d fix them up. Hurray!

Well, I haven’t sent them off yet, because I’m a slacker. And yet, today I found a package slip in my mailbox from Oakley. Confused, I went to the post office and picked up a package. A package just the right size for glasses! I
wondered if Oakley had decided to send me a new pair of sunglasses as an apology for forcing me to pay them to fix their own damn faulty merchandise.

In fact, they had decided to send me the glasses of a guy named Wayne in
Florida. Thanks guys! I called the number of the optician written on the slip in the package, and told them to let Wayne know he would get his sunglasses, just as soon as they made the journey from Boston, back to Oakley, and on south to Florida. The woman was very thankful, and expressed surprise that I did such an honorable thing.

I was willing to return them and leave it at that, but Char suggested I try them on before I let them go. I think they look right spiffy.

Sorry for the crappy photo, I’m all out of batteries

End of a different era

Char finishes Might and Magic VI.

Char says: I finally beat this game, which I started over winter break in my sophomore year of college. I’ve been playing the Might and Magic series since I was about 11, and have now
beat III through VI. So don’t say I never accomplished anything in my life (ha ha).

I had planned to take Char to a baseball game sometime this summer, but we lucked out and got free tickets from my Dad’s accountant. (Thanks Bruce!) The seats were amazing, just up behind the third base dugout.

The Red Sox played the Twins, and whupped their butts.. Pedro pitched one of his great games, and completely shut the opposition down. The game was only two and a half hours, because, basically, the other team didn’t get to do anything.
