August 25: Big Dig Walk

Today we went on the Big Dig walk. The new route 93 tunnel that will replace the southeast expressway (aka the central artery) is nearly done, so they opened it up for people to walk in. They claim it will open late 2002. We shall see. In other news, I don't need glasses. I simply spent too much time at the peecee, and my brain got used to focusing up close. I just needed to spend some time outside, and it's all good. It was a worrying two or three week period, however.

naturally the line that we had to zigzag through is totally gone by this point.

Mid August: End of Madison

so I'm taking this japanese course during the summer, and around the beginning of august I realize that it is not working out. I don't know if it's me, or the new teacher, or the workload, or the end in sight, or what, but I am just not enjoying nor getting anything out of this class. So I dropped it. Goodbye to my classmates and teachers, it was really fun for a while there.

The upshot of dropping the course was that I would have time for things like moving and this person:

Anyway, here's a tree. About at the time I took this photo, I noticed that I'm losing my long distance focus. Fuck fuck fuck. I always had perfect eyes, I was always the only one in my family that had perfect vision. It was sort of a point of pride. Now I have to squint to see stuff beyond 50 feet away. fuck. I think I'll get contacts/laser vision shit if I can. blech

I guess I couldn't leave without finding another riced-out car. Forgot to reset whitebalance, whoops!
