{"id":498,"date":"2008-11-04T21:20:43","date_gmt":"2008-11-05T02:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ywwg.com\/wordpress\/?p=498"},"modified":"2008-11-04T21:20:43","modified_gmt":"2008-11-05T02:20:43","slug":"elect-o-meter-for-linux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ywwg.com\/wordpress\/archives\/498","title":{"rendered":"Elect-o-meter for linux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Boingboing had a neat post about an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boingboing.net\/2008\/11\/04\/funny-gadget-the-ele.html\">&#8220;elect-o-meter&#8221;<\/a> that one could hack up &#8212; basically a plastic cup that glows red or blue depending on who is winning the election.  <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have the necessary hardware though, so I took the code and made a software version:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ywwg.com\/images\/elect-o-meter.png\" alt=\"elect-o-meter\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The purple will become more blue or more red depending on who is winning, and then when a winner is declared it will turn fully red or blue.  Because the purples are very difficult to discern by eye, I print the actual percentages below.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/ywwg.com\/src\/cnn.py\">source code<\/a>.
