The long length of the wall posed some new challenges, documented in this video.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4Jx3nR5rmO0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" align=\"center\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>He also made some modifications to the wall, demonstrating the need to plan for interior details while building the exterior. While the Tumbleweed plans specify a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dickinsonmarine.com\/propane.php\" target=\"_blank\">marine boat heater<\/a> for warmth, we&#8217;ve heard a few reports that the boat heater just doesn&#8217;t cut it in a New England winter.\u00a0 An alternative we discovered is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.regency-fire.com\/Products\/Hampton-Wood-Gas\/Cast-Iron-Stoves,-Fireplaces---Inserts\/H15.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Hampton<\/a> series of propane stoves, one of which is small enough for a tiny house but puts out much more heat than the marine heaters.\u00a0 Because of its larger size and clearance requirements, Owen needed to study the floor plans carefully to find a place the heater could fit.\u00a0 Moving one of the windows freed up the right amount of space, and that required changing the framing of the port wall.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 353px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ywwg.com\/images\/tiny_house\/plans_alteration.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ywwg.com\/images\/tiny_house\/plans_alteration.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"353\" height=\"471\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">The red arrow shows how we changed the heater from being mounted on one side to a larger heater in the corner.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today Owen finished framing one of the long port walls.
